Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his personal gain, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Seekers and Planners tables.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
